On a weekend as today, it was great being outdoors again enjoing some sunshine. A perfect opportunity to go and see the Fitzwilliam Museum's Sculpture Promenade 2012 exhibit on the museum's lawn.Sculptures from the artists Helaine Blumenfeld,Kan Yasuda and Peter Randall-Page are on display and invite exhibitors to explore the different forms and textures. The exhibit will be on until January 2013. We particularly loved Peter Randall-Page's 'Little seed' sculptures, which are proto-types of his work at the famous Eden Project in Cornwall. |

photo shoot 28.04.12 |
Thanks so much to everyone who helped out on this shoot. Special thanks go to: Alessio Ciulli, Cambridge University's greatest cycling chemist, Adam McMonagle, Cambridge's answer to all your large format printing needs and Crispin Moller, owner of the very attractive Pop Cycle Cambridge bikes! Thank you for agreeing to wear our Cambridge t's in such challenging weather — much respect :) |
photo shoot 28.04.12 |
Early start, drizzling rain, late bridge playing sessions — not the best start for a photo shoot! However if we waited for the British sun to shine, we could be waiting some time! Still a great time was had by all. Rob at Ben Hayward Cycles had the bikes ready to go and we got on with it. |

Cambridge is a city renowned for people thinking outside the box. Well this mystery minstrel clearly found innovation from inside the box, well bin to be exact. It's people like this that make this city such a great place to live and visit. Please note that no special effects were used in the making of this image. |

Yesterday we attended one of the many events at Wordfest, the Cambridge literary festival. Literary Cambridge celebrated the city through a selection of writings. Cambridge is one of the most written about cities and has been the topic for such writers as Virginia Woolf and Rupert Brooke. |

Gone to beat Oxford!Today is the 158th Boat Race between Cambridge and Oxford. The first race took place in 1829, making this one of the oldest sporting events in the world. The current win status is: Cambridge 80, Oxford 76.The course runs from Putney to Mortlake and is 4miles and 374 yards (6.8 km) long. If you happen to be in London we recommend you go and see it, as long as you cheer for Cambridge. |
07.04.12 |
Good places to watch are at the start from Bishop's Park, known as the Middlesex side, or around Hammersmith Bridge, where you will find a good atmosphere and a good pub. |
07.04.12 |
We mustn't forget to mention the Cambridge Women's University Boat Club who beat Oxford at Henley on Sunday 25th March.. |

What a great day, well done to Sally of The Cambridge Raincoat Company for organising this event. This is the first of we hope many such events in Cambridge. The weather was kind to us, just the day to officially launch our extended City of bicycle Cambridge t range. The colours looked great on the models and worked a treat with Sally's raincoats. We also previewed our forthcoming City of bicycle's special olympic gold edition due this may (pictured). Had lots of great comments and a few pre-orders. |
30.03.12 |
Come and join us on Sunday, 1.April at The Retro Ride & Cycle Fashion show. We look forward to seeing you there. |

This place is stunning in the sun. The influential US landscape architects Olmsted Brothers apparently designed the space of the American Cemetery in Madingley on a baseball field. There are 3,811 military graves here, only 24 graves are of unknown servicemen. |
24.03.12 |
On Saturday we joined the free walking tour organised by the Festival of Science. The walk theme was around people who were first in their field, or achieved gold in the form of winning the Nobel prize.

This is the year of the bike! Cambridge loves cycling and to celebrate this we are adding to our City of bicycles collection. The launch will begin on 01.04 and will continue throughout the next few months. We will be adding several very limited editions to the collection, so lovers of bikes stay tuned. |
03.03.12 |
Saturday was great day to watch the last day of the Lent Bumps. The Bumps have been run since the 1820's and are always a fun spectacle. Bumping evolved as a way of allowing a large number of competing boat crews to race over a relatively short and narrow stretch of river. If you missed them you can always catch the May bumps that will be held on the river from 13th — 16th June. |
06.02.12 |
As you can see our snow family are hardcore as they opted for our Cambridge t shirts rather than the much warmer Cambridge hoodies. I guess that makes sense! |
06.02.12 |
Like most people in the UK we had a massive dump of snow on Saturday. I say massive lightly, it was around 20cms (don't laugh all of you from much snowier lands). As usual the whole world came to a stand still, leaving us no choice than to go and make snowmen, women and children!! |
04.01.12 |
We have recently launched some lovely City of bicycles hoodies, to keep you nice and warm during these winter days (when the weather actually lives up to the expectations of the season). If you have not been bought one for X-mas then why not treat yourself this month? All hoodies are 15% off. Please note this offer has now finished. |
online upload 24.11.11 |
Just photgraphing our mugs so we can upload them in time for Xmas! |
19.11.11 |
Limited edition hand pressed mugs. This first run has been produced just in time for our Xmas countdown. We will be selling them tomorrow at Stapleford Craft Fair. Hope to see you there. |
19.11.11 |
Here are our new mugs. There are four designs and each design comes in two colours. Each mug is hand pressed by us. They make the perfect stocking filler! |
28.10.11 |
As many of you are already buying our t-shirts for Xmas gifts, we thought it was time to get into the festive spirit. We went of to one of our favourite locations and started to decorate a tree with out t-shirts.
|
28.10.11 |
Here is a nice way of wrapping your t-shirt without having to waste money or the environment on wrapping paper. In the next few weeks we will be attending several Xmas fairs around Cambridge. More details to follow… |
Clare Hall 28.10.11 |
Clare Hall is a functional building and has a strong scandanavian influence. Ralph Erskine spent time in Sweden, he was attracted there because of his love of Swedish architecture and the countries social welfare infrastructure. |
Clare Hall 28.10.11 |
Ralph Erskine's socially influenced architecture is beautifully illustrated in his work for Clare Hall, Cambridge. Its design encourages a more communal way of living and working.

Cermonial procession outside the Senate House. The Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University, Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz makes a speech at the Senate House to mark the official start of academic term. Today an estimated 18,000 students descend onto the city. |
01.10.11 |
The city was buzzing as the students arrive back for the official first day of term. The town was a hive of activity with the pomp and ceremony of university life! |

Like most parts of the country Cambridge has enjoyed a return to summer, or should we say we finally managed to get a glympse of what summer in Cambridge should have been like. Amazing temperatures for October. |
17/18.09.2011 |
These birds stole the show, stunning. |
17/18.09.2011 |
We think the packaging works really well! They look really good when they are laid out together. |
17/18.09.2011 |
This weekend we enjoyed the remaining summer weather on Parkers Piece at the Cambridge Food, Garden and Produce Festival. We met some really great people and sold some of our lovely t-shirts to them. People are already thinking about buying our shirts for Xmas presents. General feedback has been really positive! |
weekend 09 — 10.09.11 University Library |
This places holds an estimate 6 to 7 million books! The building is perfect for drawing a pictogram, due to its distinctive architecture. Might produce another building ‘insight shirt’ if we get time! |
weekend 09 — 10.09.11 University Library |
We do like a bit of architecture. Here is a great example of Giles Gibert Scott's work. The library was built between 1931 and 1934. It was officially opened by HRH George V in the summer of 1934.

weekend 09 — 10.09.11 American Cemetery |
The Wall of the Missing is a massive 472 feet (143 metres) long wall of Portland Stone. On it are 5,126 engraved names of people missing in action. David Kindersley, who lived and worked in Cambridge until his death in 1995, was responsible for the lettering on the wall. It took five years to engrave and hand cut the lettering. What amazes me is that out of the 5,126 names there are only nine people on the wall who have been found, identified and given an official burial since the end of the war. |
weekend 09 — 10.09.11 American Cemetery |
It's a moving place. It's not surprising that this was a location where Steven Spielberg originally planned the cemetery scene for Saving Private Ryan. However the nearby road noise soon put a stop to that! |
weekend 09 — 10.09.11 |
Open Cambridge weekend was great. Some really interesting places, not usually open to the public. Also free tours and great talks. Fridays tour at the American Cemetery was really good. The guides there have an amzing knowledge and passion for their subject. Makes all the difference. |
Granchester Meadows |
Got some strange looks but we think the shoot turned out really well! |
Granchester Meadows |
It was time to think of an alternative way. Off to B&Q to gather a rubber mallet, two wooden poles, some clothes pegs and a few metres of washing line! |
Granchester Meadows |
Our first idea was to photograph some of the insight shirts on a clothes rack. Unfortunately we didn't account for the force nine gale that was blowing across the meadow! This meant many minutes wasted, waiting for the wind to drop! |
Granchester Meadows |
What better place than Granchester Meadows for a photo shoot? |
And finally… |
We do like a bit of typography — lovely. |
Lovely colours! |
We think the combination of great colour t-shirts with a single white colour print work really well! Nice and simple ;) |
Thanks Martin, John and Michael |
Everyone worked really hard to help us get what we wanted. |
Ahh! the smell of ink! |
I was like a kid in a sweey shop. I love the making process. |
Cambridge 23.08.2011 |
We've been working really hard to get our idea off the ground. It's been a really exciting process — designing this website, compiling insights, talking to lots of people and designing our ‘insight shirts’. Seeing the shirts printed was a huge buzz, we really hope you like them. |
